  • The National Parent Teacher Association, in conjunction with Learning Heroes and Univision, has released the Readiness Roadmap Toolkit, featuring dozens of released items designed to help parents work with their children to ensure that they are meeting grade-level standards for success.  The portal, designed around the findings of a study of more than 1,300 parents of K-8 students nationwide, has robust guidelines and toolkits that lay out the core competencies expected of students between Kindergarten and 8th Grade.

  • Parents are urgently reminded that when choosing to not use the "Drop Off Zones" they should exercise good judgment and not have children cross through the "Drop Off Zones" and rather choose the crosswalks at either corner of 10th or 12th Street which are supervised by Crossing Guards.  In addition, parents using the "Drop Off Zones" are reminded that you cannot park your vehicle in these zones and escort your child into the school.

Doyle School Recipient of Bergen County Educator Recognition Award 2016-2017
Each year, the Doyle School participates in the Bergen County Educator Recognition program.  The program is jointly sponsored by the Bergen County Association of School Administrators and the Bergen County Education Association.  All of the County's honorees will be recognized at a Recognition Luncheon on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at the Park Ridge Marriot.  Our winner was selected by our school selection committee with nominations taken from staff and parents.
The Doyle School is pleased announce that Mr. Joseph LaBelle has been selected as this year's recipient of the Bergen County Education Recognition honor. 
Congratulations to Mr. LaBelle! 
American Heart Association- Jump Rope for Heart Fundraising Activity
Each school year, Mrs. Melanie Rose-Rella, the Doyle School Physical Education Teacher, provides instruction specific to the American Heart Association's Jump Rope for Heart activity.  During the month of February, the entire school engaged in a meaningful charity event centered on promoting Heart-Healthy lifestyles and practices.  This year, the Doyle School had almost 220 students participate in the fundraiser and the school was able to raise $14, 952.00!  Congratulations to all of our students and staff for a job well done.  Thank you to Mrs. Rose-Rella for planning and delivering such a remarkable program to our children!

Yearbook Pictures
The Wood-Ridge Public Education Foundation will be conducting a photo shoot for the yearbook on Thursday March 16, 2017.  
Any make-ups will be scheduled on Tuesday March 21, 2017
Grant Contest- Mrs. Nass
Mrs. Nass has recently applied for a grant that would benefit children in our school.  There is a component of the grant application that involves a voting (once daily) for the best grant application.  Once you visit the website,  you will need to enter the name "Nass" to view the application.  Please cut and paste the link below to vote:

In the event of inclement weather, any announcement concerning a school closing, delayed opening, or early dismissal will be made via a Reverse 911 call/electronic communication with our Real Time Data Management System.  In addition, similar notifications will be shared with the following media outlets:

  • WINS Radio
  • Fox 5 NY
  • FIOS 1
Please do not contact the Wood-Ridge Police or Fire Departments for information concerning school closing.  A message will be placed on the school district web page as well.

Important Notice 
Please be sure to label your child's outer clothing, water bottles, lunch bags, etc.  In addition, please be sure that any lunch money sent in to school is in an envelope that clearly states your child's name and class!
Important Safety Announcement- Please be reminded that people who park on Wood-Ridge Avenue during Drop Off hours should use the crossing guards at the corners of 10th and 12th Street.  PLEASE DO NOT CROSS WOOD-RIDGE AVENUE IN ANY AREA BESIDES THE CROSS WALKS! 
Important Safety Announcement
Effective as of 9/21/16, parents/guardians will not be permitted to enter the school with their children.  Any parent/guardian who wishes to enter the school must report to the Main Office via the Main Entrance.  Staff members have been instructed to not permit adults to enter the building at any time.  Birthday party treats, forgotten homework/lunch, etc. must all be brought to the Main Office via the Main Entrance of the Doyle School.  
After School Extra Help Offerings 
The Doyle School Instructional Staff offers one day a week of extra help for students in grades K-3.  The extra help session takes place, by grade, according to the calendar that is listed on this web page.  The extra help sessions begin at dismissal (2:50 pm) and conclude at (3:50 pm).  Any families wishing to utilize the extra help offerings must communicate with their child's teacher to confirm attendance.  All students will be dismissed from their customary dismissal door.  The program begins on Tuesday, September 20, 2016.  Please consult the Doyle School web page calendar for exact dates by grade level.
7:30 AM - 8AM- Early Morning Care- Students must enter via Main Entrance on Wood-Ridge Avenue.
8AM- All doors will be opened and students will be permitted to walk to classroom door.

2nd grade students are asked to enter the school at the Highland Avenue Entrance
Pre K and Kindergarten students are asked to enter at the Kindergarten Wing Entrance (corner of Wood-Ridge Avenue and 12th St)
Grade 1 and 3 students are asked to enter at the Main Entrance (Wood-Ridge Avenue) 
School Exit Doors at Dismissal
Part Day Pre School Students will exit from the Kindergarten Wing door (corner of Wood-Ridge Avenue and 12th Street).
Pre K students will exit from Room 7 (Mrs. Rightmyer).
Kindergarten students will exit from the Kindergarten Wing door (corner of Wood-Ridge Avenue and 12th Street).
Grade 1 students will exit from the Room 15 classroom exit (Ms. Cortina) on 12th Street.
Grade 2 students will exit from the Highland Avenue door.
Grade 3 students will exit from the Main Entrance door. 
Please be reminded that any changes in address/contact information need to be reported to the Doyle School Main Office as soon as possible!

General Reminders:
Parking lots are for STAFF USE ONLY from 7:30AM- 3:30PM.  Before Care doors open at 7:30AM- Students must enter via the Main Entrance only from 7:30-8:00AM daily Please utilize the "Drop Off Zones" when bringing students to school in the morning and remember that parking and leaving your vehicle during the morning is not permitted. All entrance doors are opened at 8:00AM and students proceed directly to their classroom doors.All students arriving after 8:15AM must enter via the Main Entrance.
